These are pictures taken today (not all by me) in my hometown of Ludowici, Ga. Sgt Stefan Smith was killed in action last week, leaving behind a wife and three little ones. The Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest his funeral, and my little town came out in its entirety to build a wall a half mile out from the church. Over 500 bikers lined the main stretch in front of the church, bikes revved and ready to drown out any voices. The only red light in town was blocked off by a giant American flag to welcome the hero, as police and firefighters from as far as two counties over stood and saluted. It was the most remarkable thing I’ve ever seen.
